To Be Single or Not To Be Single

Sometimes I miss being single. When you’re single…

  • you don’t have to answer to anyone.
  • you don’t have to argue with anyone.
  • you don’t have anyone to argue with you.
  • you can sleep as late as you want.
  • you don’t have to stay up to make sure no one is up past their bedtime.
  • you don’t have to consider anyone other than yourself.
  • you only have to clean up after yourself (if you clean up).
  • you are the only one who suffers from your mistakes.
  • you are the only one to blame when things go wrong.
  • you don’t tire as easily.
  • your spirit of adventure is self-perpetuating, or at least it should be.
  • you have the time and opportunity to learn the full ins and outs of the person in the mirror.
  • life is what you and you alone make it.
  • you can save a lot of money, or you can spend a lot on yourself.
  • going to church, working out, having hobbies, donating time and service to others, reading a good book, truly maintaining friendships are all things you can fully devote yourself to.

This list can continue on indefinitely depending on your point of view, but to sum it up, life as a married person is just different than that as a single one.

    Yes! that is very true you can do what you want when you are single. But I am single and the grass seems to always be greener on the other side. I sometimes dream and wish I had someone to answer to, argue with. Care about someone other than myself. There is nothing out here in this big world all alone. I think life is much sweeter when you do have someone to share it with. But in the mean time I will enjoy my freedom!

    I don’t think I’ve ever done anything in my life more right until I decided to be single… While it is a very lonely life to choose, I could not be any happier than I am now… I think the trick to enjoying the single life is having good friends… As long as I have that, I’m not overwhelmed with loneliness… Besides, watching people I know in relationships makes me GLAD to be single…

    I love being single, but for some reason the WOMEN IN MY LIFE hate the fact that I’m single.

    My career (offshore) makes it hard to maintain any time of meaningful and trustworthy relatinship, not to mention my own il LIST OF REASON for being single…

    but yet, the women i come in contact with try desparately to lock me down. I wanna be free…..and I’m glad I’m still single,but I seem to still break hearts and do things that men in RELATIONSHIPS do…its like I’m living a double life, getting the “WORST” of both worlds…..

    and to think I thought that being single will grant me the best of both worlds..

    its funny because the title of the article is “to be single or not to be single”, yet it only gives one half of the scenario. currently i’m single and just like being in a relationship it has its ups and downs. we all know because we all at some point have been in a relationship and we all at some point have been single there are advantages and disadvantages to both. i think the decision really depends on where you are in life and what you feel is best for you.

    It has its advantages and disadvantages. I like not having to answer to anyone, but I do like the companionship from time to time.

    I’m like IamDyeverse…I work 50-60 hours a week, so while a relationship isn’t out of the question, I do know it’s a lot of work…almost like another 40-hour work week lol.

    Unfortunately, sometimes women don’t understand my schedule and I’ve had some try and confront me because they think I’m lying or that I refuse to make time for them. It is what it is.

    um all of you guys comments are interesting yet some people need to understand that when you are single it’s hard to find someone to love you for who you really are…. and question why does it seem like every time I’m in a relationship that is when dudes try to holla but when I’m single their no were in sight…. crazy if you ask me

    why is that people always state the reason they single is because they dont have time for a relationship? i understand some people are pushy about the amount of time u may have to spend, but if they b***hing about time get rid of them. i am one of many who wouldnt mind settling down. and i dont care about time. as long as i know im the only woman that has ur heart. who cares about time. u have to know who u’re dating and if they can’t accept what u got going on then tha’s their problem. but dont blame it on that.. i never have much time for a man. but if we willing to compromise the little time we do have and make it worth while.. there is no reason i can complain…but then again… men tend to send mixed messages.. i kno women do too, but i dont know if im coming or going with men sometimes… usually i just end up going cause i dont have patience.. work school and my daughter takes it all… men keep it simple if u want someone to feel where u coming from… honesty is always the key, me personally, i dont have time for the complexity and inconsistency.

    Right now, I enjoy being single for the freedom it brings from not having drama. That, and there’s isn’t anyone worth my while. Don’t get me wrong. I’d like to be in a meaningful relationship, but the women I deal with play way too much for me. If I do see one, they waste their time chasing thugs, players, or cats who got multiple baby mamas.Watching a game or playing a video game is one thing, but I can’t deal with people playing with others’ emotions like that.

    I really feel that the true art of lasting relationships is lost. I personally am tired of meeting new people,only to discover that they are damaged from past relationships.Then they damage me because they don’t know anything about love and commitment.I am fed up with wanna be playa’s and pimps and men that think they are straight but are really bi-sexual.Good luck to my fellow women because I have come to peace with being alone and at peace.Besides my children give me the unconditional love that a man has never been able to.Including my ex-husband.Not bitter just smarter.
