What She Does:
Hoop extraordinaire Candace Parker was elected as the first overall pick in 2008 WNBA draft. She joined the Los Angeles Sparks on April 9th, 2008. As a rookie, the 6’4” beauty put herself and her team on the map when she led them to victory with 34 points, 12 rebounds and 8 assists, defeating defending the champs Phoenix Mercury! Her first year in the league, the forward averaged 18.5 ppg and 9.5 rpg. At the beginning of her second season, the Sparks MVP gave birth to a baby girl, resulting in an 8 game court absence! Despite Parker’s leave, she still led the WNBA in double-doubles and finished the season as the league’s leader in rebounds per game! Parker’s brother, Anthony Parker, and husband, Shelden Williams, are both in the NBA but when it comes to who has the best game, Candace undeniably holds the crown!

Our strengths and capabilities know no bounds, we are Black women.
