Chris Brown will face off against August Alsina, John Legend, The Weeknd, Trey Songz and Usher in the “Best Male R&B/ Pop Artist” category.

This is tough. J. Cole, Kendrick Lamar and Drake had incredible albums this years. But only one can take home the award for “Best Male Hip Hop Artist.” Big Sean, Common and Wale were also nominated.
4. BEST FEMALE R&B/POP ARTIST

Of course Beyonce is a shoo-in for “Best Female R&B/Pop Artist,” but Ciara, Janelle Monae, Jhene Aiko, K. Michelle and Rihanna aren’t going down without a fight!
5. BEST FEMALE HIP HOP ARTIST

While she has some competition this year, Nicki Minaj is the top contender for “Best Female Hip Hop Artist” in a category with Dej Loaf, Iggy Azalea, Tink Trina and Azealia Banks.

After snagging an Academy Award for their collaboration “Glory,” John Legend and Common will take on August Alsina and Nicki Minaj, Big Sean and E-40, Chris Brown/ Lil Wayne and Tyga, Chris Brown/Usher and Rick Ross and Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars for “Best Collaboration” at the BET Awards.

Bobby Shmurda kept us hitting our “Shmoney Dance” all summer with his infectious super hit “Hot N*ggas,” which made him an obvious choice for “Best New Artist. He’s in the running with Dej Loaf, Fetty Wap, Rae Sremmurd, Sam Smith and Tinashe.
