The most common route of trasmisson of hiv is thru heterosexual contact. The overwhelming majority of black women that are infected are so via the blackman. If you ban blackwomen you must ban black men from donating blood. I agree if its a safety issue it should be done,but let’s be fair. I don’t believe in banning anyone. The only problem that I see is this: there is s six week window period after sexual contact before HIV will even show up in blood in order to test for it. Unless the tests have changed, not sure. In other words the person would have to be sex free for six weeks even before they get tested and we know people lie. Personally I don’t believe that you should take in blood from another persons body into your own. Whether you are a Christan and aspire to serve God in a way that is pleasing to him or you just believe that this is a unclean practice that man has come up with through the advancement of medicine, I would advise all to do do their research on the matter. Even if this were a life and death situation in a hospital setting there are still other chemical substitutes that can be given to replace blood loss when needed for transfusions. I think the real issue here is civil rights. There are just as many heterosexual people with AIDS as there are gay ones. 1) HIV/AIDS is NOT a “gay disease” as originally thought back in the 70s and 80s. It can transmitted from males to females and females to females just as easily as from male to male.

2) Not all gay men have HIV/AIDS. Just like not all straight people have it.

The reason being that, even though I was born in 1985 and didn’t start f**king until at least 1999 AND went to the donation center with my STD/HIV test results, they figure that just because I f**k in the butt I have AIDS. That’s homophobia at it’s finest, and unfortunately most protected because it’s homophobia by our own government.

Nobody was saying that they have plans in the works to ban black women from donating blood. The story says that, given the reason for banning gays, black women should be next on the list but that will never happen because of the racist issue involved with it.

Believe it or not, black women and the gays have a lot in common in terms of social standing in society today. No one is hating on black women, just saying that if logic holds up, they would be the next group to go.

Oh, and THERE ARE NO MANDATORY, STANDARD TESTING PROCEDURES FOR DONATED BLOOD. The Red Cross just types the blood (A,B,O, etc) stores it until it’s needed and ships it off. Testing the samples is at the hospitals discretion.

Anybody can HIV, so what will banning gays from giving blood prove? And how would they verify if you are gay? Do you think gay is a new found sexuality? NO! I’ve heard of people getting AIDS through blood transfusions so I can’t completely argue his whole point. but when you wanna counter someones argument attack their argument not them personally especially if they aren’t attacking you personally. You made it sound like gay peoples sexuality is some sort of disease, and they should be avoided at all cost. There are people that feel that way about black people, and if they came out of the blue and said that to you, you’d think they we’re mentally ill.
