I really don’t understand why Mariah Carey pulling out of this particular movie is considered such big news.And if the female is pregnant: “Duh!” This preocupation with the lives (esp. the sex lives) of the Rich and famous is getting rediculous! Sweet Lioness, with all due respect, you strike me as someone who is non-African-American or very young — with few life experiences of any depth. I say this, not to embarass, be critical or heckle you, but to hopefully enlighten you. You may be aware that this title is now to be considered a “Black Classic.” One has only to witness the powerful portraits of each of the characters in the play to comprehend the depths from which they each had to struggle in order to achieve their final conjoined victories. It is purely symbolic of anyone’s battle to be encouraged to overcome all adversities. That is what the title means, and why it endures.

Admittedly, given the prediliction for Tyler Perry revising the plots of his movies bassed on his plays until they are barely recognizable, there is absolutely no assurance that he will maintain any or much of the original content. Nevertheless, he always produces an enjoyable and attention-getting product. My advice for receiving the best understanding and appreciation of the drama is to read the book and/or view an original production of the play. I do believe you will be surprisingly entertained, engaged and edified when you view the final result of either.

I am a Tyler Perry fan. There, I said it…and I meant it! I enjoy all of his movies and his plays. I have embraced my inner Madea!!! That being said I am pretty confident that Tyler will take Ntozake Shange’s work seriously and give an excellent screen rendition. Sweet Lioness…please read the book. You do yourself a huge disservice by dissing award winning literary works without taking the time to read them.

What does not make sense is how someone that may be pregnant and is a celebrity would want to hide it, but then what will you do when your big stomach no longer fits in the screen shots any more, what are you gonna do, hide the child for ever?? If she desires a child then maybe she will have one, BUT I bet its kinda bitter when you been with someone for a minute and you boast about your CONSTANT intimacy to the media but yet everyone else is knocked up but you (Alicia Keys, Keisha Cole, Kardashian Sister) and who ever else is sliding one out, that must be kinda sad to realize, particularly at that age :(
