VIDEO: Gabourey Sidibe’s Mom Kills It On “America’s Got Talent”

gabourey-momMove over Gabourey, your mom is going to be a star!!! Gabourey Sidibe clearly isn’t the only talented member of her family. Her mother, Alice Tan Ridley, who has spent years singing in the NYC subway system, brought the house down with her rendition of the classic “At Last” last night on “America’s Got Talent.”

    Gabbys mother has a very nice singing voice.For some reason or not,she makes me think of Pearl Bailey,Sarah Vaughns,Ella Fitzgeralds,Dinah Washingtons etc.That era of music. But at least we have Sharon Jones her voice is not APPRECIATED the way it should be…Well,we have a few others also.Leela James has that throw back voice as well.

    I must agree she has a very nice voice. She should stick to singing though! And not go the acting route like here daughter playing a “illiterate, abused welfare mother with aids”. As long as she keeps it positive and stay away from embracing “black” stereotypes.

    Wonderful!!!!!!!!! Very talented family…i saw a clip where she was singing down in the New York subway a couple of months back and she was fantastic…so i am not shock, not one bit. Get em’ mama!!!

    That was great. She sounds good! And if she can act like her daughter go for that too…Leave it up to the sisters to find the negative in everything…Can be just be happy for each other without the extra???
