Beyonce has a pony tail piece at the end of her hair. I have seen Kelly’s real hair when she was on a UK TV show, Nevermind the Buzzc**ks. It was relaxed and pulled into a sleek ponytail. It looked really cute and was far longer than that weave she is wearing on the Dark and Lovely relaxer box.

Why is this a story ? It’s just a new hairstyle white and black women get weaves so why is her taking off hers such a big deal? She did look lovely in that dress along with her hair and make-up combined. Her overall beauty should have been the story not merely her lack of a weave. Grow up H.B.!!

It’s about time! They are destroying our culture with all of this fake hair, skin bleaching and blond hair coloring. By proud of who and what you are. African American children are watching and learning to dislike themselves because of this nonsense.

I wish this would start a revolution of black females! Like white women burned their bras, I’d like black women to burn their weaves and get independence from the insanity of chasing her slave-master’s features.

What can I say, sometimes, you have to let the scalp breathe. And to the men who are talking about Black women and weave, you are so ignorant. White celebs where just as much weave but because they’re white you assume its theirs. Do you really believe all those women have thick shiny lengthy full heads of hair? And all the men who complain about weave are the main ones chasing behind women who sport them. I usually wear my own hair to keep it healthy and save time and money but ever so often if I feel like trying something new, maybe longer or shorter, different colors, what’s wrong with that? Just like makeup, accessories, ensembles, etc, weave is just another way to accentuate one’s beauty.

It’s really sad, the number of brothas casting down Black women, always trying to find fault and reason to drop us when we’re the only ones that stand behind you all and have been from day one. Yet I rarely hear brothas supporting and encourage sistas. The proud heritage of the Black race is dissipating.

No sister, the ignorance is not knowing history and people comparing themselves to others. We are not the opposites of any other people, no matter what the media tell us.

We do support African American women being their natural selves, not by being something they are not. We are thinking about the future generations, the children who are watching all of this fake nonsense trying to coping what they see. They have stopped loving themselves because they don’t see themselves in music videos, movies or television. Teenagers are now wearing wigs more now then ever before. So please, don’t call us ignorant when we are caring, knowledgeable and supportive.

Please don’t generalize all African American men. When I hear people say that all men stuff, the first thing they should do is seek better men. In other words, learn to pick better men, who are good supportive men and don’t blame everyone for your bad decision making skills.

Why is there a lot of beautiful ppl with a much long, thick hair still wear weave? I am glad I don’t barely wear weave but went natural (afro) I want be keepin’ real myself. And keep black cuture alive. Be proud of what God gives you! Don’t change it!

I like it! Trina looks good… Although I celebrate the notion of choice when it comes to how a woman opts to wear her hair, I personally think that real hair trumps fake hair every time. I like it when my man runs his fingers through my hair, massages my scalp and kisses me ever-so-gingerly on the top of my head. It’s sensual. Many men are afraid to touch the heads of women who are wearing fake hair, so a degree of intimacy can be lost. No matter the length of one’s real hair, in my opinion, a woman (white or black) always looks better with her own Crown and Glory than with Korean-purchased-horse hair.

Some people always have to have others to drag down to make themselves look good. This goes especially for the Black woman. @ Kenjii I agree with you. I have long hair as well but it was getting damaged due to all the blow-drying, flat-ironing and everyday wear and tear. I will wear a sew-in or sometimes wigs and it has done wonders for the condition of my hair. I’m not trying to be anyone but me; a person that is concerned about the welfare of my hair. Love the truth sister, I thank you for telling it. I think it maybe too deep for some of our people to understand however. Fake is the new reality for most today. They can’t understand what they are doing to future generations of children because selfishness wins if it feels good or if you look like the images you see others wearing.
