PETA makes my blood boil. This organization is perfectly content denying civil liberties to human beings under the guise of animal protection. Mike Vick did his time; now leave him the hell alone. He’s already been stripped of his dignity, now you want to strip him of his clothing, so that he can pose naked for this raunchy magazine to raise money for PETA. In case you haven’t heard, slavery is over. If Mike wants to make a substantial contribution to PETA, he certainly has the financial wherewithal to do so without getting naked, but if I was him, I wouldn’t give PETA one red cent. Their tactics leave a lot to be desired.

Although the offer to appear naked seems to have generated from Playboy magazine, itself, I know that PETA will jump right on the bandwagon in an attempt to coerce Mike to agree to participate in this proposed photo shoot. PETA’s use of EXTREMIST guerrilla warfare tactics sickens me.

I am an animal lover, but I think this country is getting ridiculous in the drastic measures that it takes to levy punishment against people who are deemed to have participated in any (real or perceived) act of cruelty against animals. In my estimation, Mike’s punishment far exceeded his involvement in the crime of dog fighting that he was found guilty of, but in any case, he completed his sentence and has even engaged in community activities to heighten the awareness of the need to end animal abuse.

Mike, you’ve done your part; don’t be exploited or manipulated by this WACKO organization. Get on with your life! Do Not (I repeat) Do Not bare your nakedness for PETA or anybody else, unless that is what you truly want to do. Let PETA do its own fundraising.

TAKE IT, VICK!! And I LOVE animals. But I believe Chris deserves another chance and I believe Mike does too. Take that million, cuz you need it…and donate to PETA only if you want to.
