Mariah’s New Singles Fail To Sell Stateside

Things are not looking good for diva Mariah Carey. The 39-year-old’s remixes for her ‘Angel’s Advocate’ LP have failed to excite fans, with the lead singles ‘Up Out My Face’ featuring Nicki Minaj and the Ne-Yo-assisted ‘Angel’s Cry’ failing miserably on the charts.

While ‘Up Out My Face’ peaked disappointingly at #100 on Billboard Hot 100, ”Cry’ embarrassingly never even garnered enough airplay or downloads to even debut on the chart.

However, though her new music hasn’t been fairing too well state-side, she’s still a star in Brazil. Her cover of the 1984 Foreigner classic “I Want To Know What Love Is,” barely got any airplay here in the US, but has been on the Brazilian charts for 20 consecutive weeks – at the #1 spot!!

The song has received the honor of being the longest chart-topper song in the country’s history! Brazil must really like their remixes!

    Unfortunately, the airwaves are filled with DRAMA and HATE based songs. Out of my face didn’t fill the new-listeners with enough hate, to want to go buy it and put it on their ring tones. The Angel Cry is too poetic for that same group of people, who don’t want to hear that kind of song. They believe it’s too sappy. There is a new breed of purchaser-listener, and they need drama in order to purchase.

    I loved Diary of an Imperfect Angel… now the remixes she messed
    up when she put Nicki random ass on the track… and I haven’t heard the one with
    Neyo yet… sure I’ll love it though cause I love me some Neyo he can make fire in
    the rain… not speaking looks but lyrics.

    Her putting Nikki on a song was like putting rappers [and Justin Beiber] on ‘We are the World’ remake. That type of s**t is just unacceptable. She gone keep flopping until she find better and more suitable people to put on her tracks.
