KINESHIA, point taken about them being called housewives. HOWEVER, many of them claim to have careers, which haven’t yielded much–and it seemed as though everyone on the ATL series was involved in fashion or some form of entertainment and tried to prove themselves and boasted about having careers, which they didn’t. Therefore, they set themselves up to be criticised. Kandi, I think, was the only ATL HW to have a successful career that started before she went on the show.

Personally, I liked the NY housewives because these women ACTUALLY had/have careers and didn’t put on a pretense (except for the one lady who was a countess–but at least she actually had the title!)

Pocahontas: I think Sheree is going to leave the show.

Califemme: I said the same thing, but somehow, the HW series sucked me in the way crack sucked in Pookie in “New Jack City”. It be callin’ me man, it be callin’ me….

I think that she will be an interesting addition ti the show! I love the fact that she has an actual career, which proves that she is more than just a well “kept ” woman! Nene sort of got on my last nerve last season but she adds a certain element of drama and excitement to the show, and she has a husband ,making her a “housewife”! Sheree(with her high sadidty a^ss) I don’t like to be honest but she brings drama too, so they may keep her around ,unless she decides to venture off to concentrate on her She By Sheree,lol fashion venture!Sheree was married but is currently single , so she is not actually a housewife anymore ,but again she brings the drama we hate but can’t stop watching!
Khandi is not a housewife, but she does have a career in the industry and seems genuinely sweet and down to earth! Kim is not a housewife, just a kept woman to someone else’s husband! She should be dropped from the show! Lisa can get catty and two faced but she is an actual housewife with a husband who’s fine as hell, supportive , and an adorable baby! I know she has 2 other boys, by Keith Sweat but we don’t see them on the show!Just curious why title a show “Atlanta Housewives if all of the women are not married currently”? Just curious! I’m sure Atlanta has plenty of successful Housewives! With that being said I cant wait to see the new season! I hope that it’s as exciting as the previous 2!

It’s about time they find a real decent housewife (regardless she got a career or not), who had not just her own money but a great reputation before she got married. Kandi was my favorite on the show even if she was not a housewife. If Nene leave I won’t miss her at all because she hated on Kandi too much. I am tired of seeing women who acts all high school and live and breath drama 24 hours a day. It may look good or funny on television but not so in real life and most people do not have time for all that drama. As for Phaedra Parks and her husband are not just a lovely couple but a power couple. Sure he’s fine but you should see his cousin too.

I think adding a lawyer to this group is an excellent idea.
She can balance out some of the insanity with a voice of reason.
Whats the point of calling the show Housewives when only 2 are married?
and only Kandi has a real career that wasnt jumpstarted by the show.

Atlanta has SOOOO much to offer on so many levels that they can do far better than this to represent the housewives there.
Instead of these 5 they could feature “Professional Women of Atlanta” in their personal moments and have unlimited resources to draw from.

I like the idea of having someone of success and proven educated on the show, especially since it’s a Reality show. FINALLYYY something positive about a successful black person that we can relate to who is in the industry, but not ‘OF’ the industry. She is successful but if she wants to keep her young marriage she needs to stay away from reality tv, and I don’t think her being one person will be able to bring to the show what we would like to see, I think it is a mistake on her part, They need to scrap this show and go back to the drawing board, I would love to watch intellectual black people living REAL lives and showing people outside our race that we are not ignorant loud fools who have nothing to contribute to society.

the show is alright. ppl praise it too much AND give too much credit. no reality show is 100% real meaning no bar holds. as for this show, It does show African Americans and other “minorities” being successful, but its a joke because its always fighting or drama on it. Its not showing them being successful saying how they got that way and what they are doing to keep their lifestyle. ITs ALWAYS drama and thats what ppl love. not the fact that something positive about black ppl is on tv. ORange county was good and ny. drama sells but ppl shouldnt give this show credit like they are helping u with your lives because majority of the time, the women are depending on their HUSBANDS. so if u have a daughter an she watches that show do u want her to have that impression that she MUST depend on her husband or marry someone rich? tbreath2, i am in agreeance with you on this one. although i hold no personal knowledge of phaedra parks (and not a viewer of this show), she appears to be quite successful, accomplished and with an exceptional career. Being such newly weds, a reality show of this sort may not prove to be such a positive “next” step for she and her husband. she is, however, an attorney – capable of sound judgement with an ability to think far ahead and beyond her next move. i say good luck to them both. :)

Career suicide. If in fact she represents some high dollar clients, no not bobby but some high dollar serious money clients. I have never heard of here before this article. The pic with tiny and toya kinda made me think she is more on the housewives level than we think.

Dwight is a joke. He is not representative of gay men. All he is trying to do is get his own reality show. I shudder to think that the only representations of gay men on that show are fat men in high heels carrying purses and skinny 50 year old men who wear tasteless clothes and grab the breasts of unsuspecting women. There are plenty of dignified gay men in Atlanta who break these stereotypes. I am sick of these over-the -top representations of gay men. It’s insulting.

The show is called the Real Housewives of ATL. Kim is not married, neither is Kandi nor Sheree. They should create another show about Single ladies doing it big in the ATL. I think this will show single women what other single women go through (relationships, parenting, careers, etc).

Honestly the show could do better without Nene, Sheree‘ and Kim.” If” the show want’s a more positive outlook on “successful” Black women! Honestly Nene has the most deficient representation of a wealthy successful black woman. Here attitude sucks completely, and is over the top. Sheree` on the other hand is a little more conservative than Nene. However, she also falls short with representing a wealthy black woman. I mean no wealth can buy you class but these women can definitely use some training. I mean come on Kim is a mistress not a housewife. And it’s sad that she is proud to be the mistress. She should have never been on the show to being with. But if the show want to make us laugh and to show the negativity that money can bring and what type of impact it has on “Black Women” and a White Woman then yes the three needs to stay on the show. But I’m cheering for them to have a more positive outlook on successful-wealthy “Black Women”(the show is predominate black women). And it’s sad that the one white woman on the show is a mistress/ gold digger(SMH with the show’s Dysfunctional cast). Hopefully the new cast member can show the positive outcome of her success and wealth. And not show us, jacked up bad attitude’s,loudness,obnoxiousness,decietfunessl and stuck up snotty behavior. But of course if Ms. Nene stay’s she will bring out the worst in her(like she did Poor Kandi smh). So Nene needs to be cut from the show(my opinion).

if nene leaves i will no longer watch the show. nene is the one that keeps it real what you see is what you get she does not put on airs. kim can leave i could care less. lisa is okay, kind of boring sometimes. sherri could leave she is boring and fake as hell, kandi i adore. and yes if this new woman comes on i will only watch to take a look at her husband he is fine as wine.

After watching all four HW series (OC, NY, NJ and ATL), I’ve learned that Bravo likes to caricaturize its cast members, thereby caricaturizing the people they are suppose to represent. The ATL housewives are over-the-top with their loud and brash behavior, they get into clawing matches with each other and stoop to ghettoisms, which betray their facade of class and dignity. Even the gay fringe-characters are exaggerated. I mean really—FUR PANTS?? A man with linebacker shoulders teetering in stillettos and another gay with a plunging neckline exposing countoured cleavage? ? Can you scream “stereotype”? It’s ridiculous. I think one reason why one of the housewives (the wife of an NBA player), left. Even she said that the housewives were not representative of the women of Atlanta. Hmm…

Also, after I joined Bravo’s message board community (yes, I became that sucked in!), I learned that a lot of these women did not have the wealth that they pretended to have. Some of these ladies have serious money issues. Having financial problems is very commonplace, but some of these women need a reality check.

So true! Frankly, I’m sick of the way a few bad apples have spoiled the bunch. To be fair, it works both ways; I hear black women bash black men. As I see it, people are not working on themselves to be better people–hence, better partners for a good person. They also are looking for the wrong things in people.

I realize this is the point SouthernSwagger was trying to make, but he lost me when he wrote that he supports black men for not marrying black women. Frankly, the blame-game is getting old, on both ends. It is only a matter of time before Phaedra Parks realizes that this guy will bring her down, but this has no effect on my day-to-day living, nor should it have one on SouthernSwagger’s.

Wow @ some of the comments. Basically It all comes down to black on black racism and self hate. You have several of black men out there saying: “black women aren’t good enough because they carry bad attitudes, they are too loud, they are obnoxious and so on. And those are some of their reason they date another race. And on the other hand you have some of your black women that date other races because the black men aren’t good enough because they are lazy, they show‘s little affection, they are quick tempered and so on. And this all comes down to blacks in America were dealt with the short end of the stick. Yes, we have accomplish a lot over the years with our success and knocking down barrels. However you still have some blacks that believe that white is better. Why? Because the white man was born with the long end of the stick. So some blacks feel that being with the white race will make your lifestyle better. But in all reality so much has changed over the years. We now have so many successful black’s out there and unfortunately they do not want to date their own kind. One being they think that their own kind will bring them down. And two they look better with another race among their colleague’s and society. Some blacks do believe having a white man or white woman on their arms will make them appear wealthy and have C.O.A. status. It’s just how I see it. Black on black racism and bashing will never end until black’s realize that there is some goods in their race and being with a different race does not make an individual or that race better!
