WOW….just WOW to that whole statement……

Gabourey would ruin her career by endorsing any products or joining a weight-loss reality show. Her best bet is to eat right and exercise and do it privately rather than talking about it to the world the way some other celebrities have done.

I know what it is like to struggle with weight. I lost 130 lbs and it took me about a year to get it off. It wasn’t easy, but it can be done–and my obesity was partly due to a medical condition.

I also know what it is like to be in a family of eaters or people who don’t practice good habits, so Gabourey’s problem may also be psychological. One thing that may work in her favor, however, is if she lives alone; then she can better control what she consumes.

I hope Gabourey loses the weight and gets to a healthy size. I think she has a beautiful face and her personality just shines like a mega-watt light bulb, but I really want her to get to get smaller–not thin or skinny, but within normal range for her body type.

…Research suggests that there is a link between obesity and genetics….but I’m sure her mother probably didn’t help Gaboury’s case by teaching her bad eating habits.

I can only hope that if she does decide to shed off some pounds, that its for the right reasons and she wants to lose weight for HERSELF!!!!! and for anyone else otherwise she will be miserable all her life trying to conform to how people think she should be.

But honestly in this case, the young Gabey cant even be faulted for her weight to a certain extent. Sure she knows its not good, not healthy etc…BUT when your enablers happen to be family, friends, and unfortunately her greatest role model, her mother, she is perfectly ‘happy’ or content with the way she lives her life health wise. Her mother’s comment sure have me confuse one minute it’s ok Gabby wanted to lose the weight then next oh, she just fine the way she is because it runs in the family. If that’s not psychological problems than I don’t know what else it could be. This is like the momma I see going to McDonald everyday for breakfast with 3 kids a few years ago and in just one year (they lived near me) all three kids look as if they gain over over 40 pounds each. A few years later the first two wanted to lose weight since one have asthma the other can’t do sports any more and what does momma say? My girth comes from me not being active over the past year are so and bad eating habits. However I’m not morbidly obese like Gabby but I have taken some reinforcement on my health and appearance this past month. I am on my journey to lose 60lbs that’s a lot of weight to lose but I am going to do it. people need to realize that we are responsible for our own health and size. The excuses about it runs in the family is bs. If you have an obese family that pigs-out and eat severely fatty foods like pig feets, chit lens, fried chicken, corn bread, Mac n’ cheese, and the list go’s on. All of these high sodium, fatty and high cholesterol meals will create a family history of obesity(your not born with obesity it comes from eating unhealthy along with minimum or no exercise to your body). In my family my size is pretty big being that my mother ,father, grandmothers, grandfathers aren’t heavy people(the women are petite and small framed and the men are tall and lean). So where is my excuse again? And over this past year along I have put on weight because of being too comfortable with myself and not realizing that I need to maintain my health by better eating habits and exercise. And yes we all have different metabolism levels but that’s still not an excuse if you know that your metabolism is slow then you need not to consume foods that your metabolism cannot burn off bottom-line. And an increase in your physical activities is needed. My excuse was I look fine and of course the men that told me girl u thick, thick? Hell if being thick is going to cause me health problems later on in life then I rather not be “thick”. I’m just saying.

It is so evil that people are critisizing Gabourey for being overweight. We are all unique one way or another and if she is comfortable being who she is, people need to accept that and encourage her to keep being comfortable. When she wants to lose weight she will. Until then, it is not our life and no one should have anything to say about her weight unless she asks for comments/suggestions. I’m definite she knows what she looks like so nothing need be said. I desire the best for her acting career.

If she does choose to loose weight, I just hope she makes the choice to go a healthy route. These diet companies are not out for peoples health they are out for a buck. I’ve tried so many fad diets and what not, all it results in is the weight coming right back. I’ve gotten a personal trainer and have refined my personal diet to meet my needs. The weight isn’t coming off as fast as I want, but it’s coming off and staying off. She is beautiful and I wish her the best of luck in whatever she chooses to do.
