Gabourey Sidibe: “I’m Terrified Of Mike Tyson”

Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe has developed a crippling fear of boxer Mike Tyson after finding herself frozen to the spot as he walked by her at a recent awards ceremony.

The Precious star, who landed her first Academy Award nomination on Tuesday, attended the Golden Globes in Hollywood last month, where Tyson was also a guest.

Sidibe didn’t speak a word to the retired boxer because she was scared off by his intimidating facial tattoo.

She explains, “At the Golden Globes Mike Tyson was there. I didn’t realise, but I’m terrified of Mike Tyson.

“I saw him and I was standing with my manager and said, ‘Don’t move, don’t move’. There’s something about him. I’m sure he’s a very nice man, but there’s something about a face tattoo. It says, ‘I’ve gone as far as I want to go in society’ and it makes me want to take a few steps back. I’m sure he’s nice though.”

    I’m surprised SHE is judging. Seriously. I didn’t know her prior 2 this PRECIOUS movie, im sure its good, but Ms Sidibe, please if u don’t have anything better 2 say about some1, just keep ur thoughts 2 urself. “I’m sure he’s a nice man, though”, what a backhanded compliment, after saying Mike Tyson took a few steps BACK! Well, G. SIDIBE, I WAS quite sure u WERE a nice girl…until this! Get it 2gether, young lady, and remember that for every finger u point at some1, there r THREE more fingers pointing AT YOU!

    Y’all actin like she called him ugly. All she said was that his tattoo intimidated her. He does look a little aggressive or like he might snap; if you saw an ordinary person on the street like that, you probably wouldn’t approach him either.

    Gabby need somebody to pull her aside to explain that judging a book by it cover is the wrong way to check a person. Before this she wanted Justin Timberlake to take her to the Oscar and now this. How do she know if Justin is trustworthy? See what I mean he was the same guy that left Janet Jackson standing over that wardrobe malfunction (and now claimed he should had stand by her giving support). Gabby been acting like she is still a teenager when she is 26 years old. To be scared of a tattoo on the face show how some people do not even know the history of it. Check Black and Asian History on it.

    Are you kidding me? lol Wow. She needs to watch Tyson, his doc**entary/movie and stop believing the hype. I bet you someone got her to be scared, as a publicity stunt, to promote the movie more, due to Tyson being convincted of rape. So when people read this, she gets burn off of battered Mike Tyson. Shame on her. Black chicks today man… get that money/exposure even if it’s at the expense of a black man.

    LOL @ meatball with feet — too funny!!! More like the Missing Link, Chewbacca, & Jabba the Hut got down and produced this ugly creature going to talk about Mike Tyson. One thing for sure is this, she does this movie, her first movie role and now she thinks she is all that!?!?!? Let the obese monster have her say, she will be forgotten in the next year. I will say that Mike Tyson has been beaten up in the media far too long!!! First of all he should of never went to prison in the first place and I do think he is one mis understood individual. Leave Mike alone, and I will say this also, he is still in the media eye, he might never box again but he is doing movies and they are doing a sequal for the Hangover. All props for Mike Tyson for sticking it in there and giving the media and fat wombats like Gabourey the finger!!!

    So she voiced her opinion…I might not agree but how is it helpful for me to tear her apart? I think the editors stand back & throw us bait like pirahna & then watch us tear into a feeding frenzy.
