I totally agree with Splash_Waters 253. I am so glad you set the record straight because I am tired of this whole “Black Woman Bashing” on Black Planet. It is really disturbing to read articles that constantly degrade black women as “Angry”. What makes it even more shocking to me is when Black boys (Yes, BOYS because in all actuality, they aren’t really men!) sit up on this site and completely disrespect black women by saying we are angry because we are never satisfied. I want to understand what is it that makes these “Boys” believe that Black women are angry! Is it because we want the best for ourselves?? If that is the case, then that is completed absurd!!!!!!!

What I do not understand is how such positive attributes (i.e., hard working, goal oriented, strong-willed) can be HEAVILY misinterpreted, especially in the workplace. For instance, why is it when a black woman states her opinion about something, she is considered “ANGRY”. Yet, when a white woman states the SAME opinion, people will say that she is a “Straight-forward person” or that she is really “PASSIONATE” about how she feels. It is really sad to know how society’s hatred/ignorance can perpetrate such harsh life experiences for us Black women.

I pray to God that this world will someday change. But the only way it can change is if people’s mindset changes. Unfortunately, some people aren’t willing to change and that is the most disturbing part.
