Good idea won’t work for all though. I am happy he only charges what he does and uses basic equipment. To do this you have to have a tough skin or at least develop one throughout the process. Well after watching the little trailer I will not be watching the tv show if it even becomes one. It is offensive and very degrading to men and or women who suffers with weight issues. I believe his tactics are cruel and unusual. And someone needs to hit him with a baseball bat upside his head for thinking that his show is going to be picked up. I joined the Army in 2000 and truth be told its not all that different (anyone seen full metal jacket). I have to be honest…you either are gonna take the abuse and better yourself and lose the weight…or fail because you let your feelings get hurt. What hes doing is called tough love and its nothing new. Some people need that. His regiment is almost military like…minus the bat. I dident see him hit anyone either. Like I said somepeople need that kind of discipline and I dont fault him for taking advantage of that.

King James’ approach to his class is purely psychological, he uses the same tactics that the military uses. His abusive language is done to induce his clients to push themselves, as in the military one accepts the verbal abuse because they don’t want to quit or be know as “a quitter”. Also as in the military a person that joins, knows prior to joining that this type of verbal abuse is going is going to take place, therefore if one is not able to handle this type of abuse it may be more rationale for them to take a more normal physical fitness class. In my opinion he needs to get rid of the bat because that is implementing physical abuse into the program which is not necessary, other than the use of the bat I feel the program is acceptable and may even work.

King James is here in st. louis! he is a trip but i gaurentee you will lose some weight…i was going to him before i got pregnant and after 2 months i lost 25lbs. yeah he will curse you out and make you cry but i bet you wont mess up his lines or stop climbing that brick..trust me!

When I was younger, my mom tried screaming at me in verbal abuse because she thought it would help me to lose more weight if she called me “fat” and called me name “pig” while eating foods but guess what? it caused me to eat more just because I was so sad that she didn’t show the love. I prayed that she would stop doing that so she learned the difference between love and verbal abuse , and she knew it was a mistake in what she did. She was just doing it for herself. Not me. If she had not stopped, I probably be 400lbs by now …It is always different on every individual people and how they can taken it. Might some can take it well, some take it as angry or some end up depressed or mad.

I agree with you to an extent Trisha_369……but this is not the military. The military is a white supremacist structure designed to keep America’s military/political influence intact. This is a gym…designed to get Black people motivated to make not only weight changes, but lifestyle changes.

Many fat/obese people want comfort and magical elixers (diet pills, surgery, medical cures) to get them healthy…and they want everyone to give them a plastic smile and lie to them about the severity of their condition. Sometimes you gotta be hard on peopel for them too see the bigger picture reality

Recovering from health issues and showing you old clothes they used to wear. They arent thinking about nothing but the results. I”m sure dude isnt kissing their asses but they dont need that. They needed someone to tell them the truth about their situations. And he obviously is supportive because the results are clear. But again.. If your mind can’t get around the verbals i’m sure there is yoga and billy blanks and all of that right there for you to do on your own time when you “feel” like it. But it looks like this is serious so I’m happy those women are recovering from their self esteem issues and health issues and whatever issues they had to conquer to be what they are becoming….

i have to say…the cursing and name calling isn’t a big deal to me. you only have to hear it a few hours out of your week…its not like you haven’t been called or heard worse…people should stop being so damn sensitive anyway, if you ask me. the only issue i have is the bat…i don’t know how calm i could be if i was hit with it….other than that, if i was in St. Louis, i’d be getting my workout on with THE KING!! lol
