I know you’re thinking: what on earth is an anal pap?! It’s not as crazy as it sounds. It’s actually a great way to detect and prevent cancer of the anus.

In the past few years doctors have become more aware of factors that lead to anal cancer. The Human Papillomavirus is related to anal cancer just like it is linked to cervical cancer. Individuals infected with HPV are more likely to develop anal cancer. Since HPV is the most transmitted sexual infection it’s really important to get not only your cervical pap but also an anal pap yearly.

Who’s at risk:

  • Men and women who have anal sex
  • Men and women who are HIV postitive
  • Men and women who have or have had HPV
  • Women who have had an abnormal cervical pap

I’m A STRAIGHT TALKER For the Pearl Of Wisdom Campaign to Prevent Cervical Cancer
    http://www.pearlofwisdom.us

The Pearl Of Wisdom Campaign is a united, global effort to raise awareness of the opportunities now available to prevent cervical cancer worldwide. In the United States, the campaign consists of women’s health advocacy organizations, policymakers, healthcare providers and others who are partnering to raise awareness of the tools to prevent cervical cancer-the Pap test, the HPV test, and the HPV vaccine and the Anal Pap; encourage women to take full advantage of these tools, and advocate for the implementation of these tools for girls women everywhere.

The campaign promotes the pearl Of wisdom as the global symbol of cervical cancer prevention. We ask to wear their Pearl Of Wisdom to showcase a united front in the battle against cervical cancer, and to pass on Pearls Of Wisdom about cervical cancer prevention to friends, family and colleagues.
