Black girls rock because Black WOMEN rock. We are to be commended for our life obstacles which we have overcome just to live as beautiful black women;) It is a reward for me to be a black woman. I have no struggles being a black woman because my ancestors fought for me to be a proud black woman that rocks! I’m a black woman that rocks because just saying positive things to a sista that looks like she needs a prayer, or a single mother trying to make ends meet, or a young sista that just might be strayed down the wrong path can make all the difference. YES WE BLACK GIRLS ROCK BECAUSE WE GOT SOUL!!!

Black girls or rather black women rock because we embrace the essence of our beauty. We display not only strong charecteristics in our features, but we also display that independent strong black woman. Im pretty sure that every black woman has gone through something in her life that changed her perspective on life. But what challenges we go through in life only makes us stronger. I am a 16 year old female, I have recently went through somethings i never thought i would ever go through. And yes through all of it, I wanted to scream, blame, and cry all the time, but i prevailed with the help of god. My experiences, in my opinion, helped shape a stronger person. I can honestly say that i am a proud black female, and no one can tell me to hate the color of my skin. Black girls are the most beautiful things god has ever created. We shine like no other, we walk like no other, we were made like no other, and because of this we are unique and special. Black women to me are like a rainbow, we come in a variety of colors, and shine indivisually. I love being black, ive never felt indifferent about my color. To me my skin doesnt just display my color, but it embraces who i am as a person and my challenges that i overcame as a growing black woman. Having growed up with some strong matriarchs in my family, ive learned how to face life and deal with the dilemas of the world.Basically we rock because… well just look at us. WE NOT ONLY ROCK BUT WE ARE BEAUTIFUL, GIFTED AND HIGHLY FAVORED.

Let me tell you – My 8 year-old fourth grader ROCKS!!! She designed her own RockStar BR with California Lilac on two walls + ceiling, fuschia on the other two walls and trimming the bottom 3′ in 6″ verical strips of porcellin blue and shenanigan green – she topped it off by writing her name in aluminum paint over her vanity and beneath the existing track lights with the i’s dotted by a diamond and a star (RockStar). She gets top grades, excells at dance, sings solos for school talent show and is a green belt in Karate. She ROCKS!!!

I rock, because I volunteer. Although I am white, I have volunteered in communities that are predominantly black. As I see it, women need to stick together, regardless of race & color. If we can make a difference in a young girl’s or a young woman’s life, it doesn’t matter what race or color we are. We need to encourage each other & build each other up, because GIRLS ROCK!

I rock and I am a positive role model for young women because I am a 29 year old women no kids. And I am currently a college student at Tallahassee Communtiy College obtaining a degree as a Registered nurse. I believe it is good to be married and have a good career before bringing a child into this world because we are living in some tough times right now. And it is good to be a role model to let other young women know this.

I DEFFINETLY ROCK because I was ROCKIN’ OUT BEEFOORREE it was cool; WAY before Lil’ wayne decided to dip into it. I’m talking about pre-Nirvana, Eurythmics, Cindy Lauper and a David Bowie kind of chic. I had to deal with being the only minority in a dominantly caucasian education system in southern california. I had to deal with constant racial slurs, bigotry and the utter disregard for me as a person entirely due to the fact that my skin was darker then everyone elses. Luckily, I was able to deal with all of this without popping out babies, finishing my education and completing my achievement of opening my own Hawaiian Shaved Ice business before I turned 22. I am a proud aunt of a 9 yr old girl that is the light of my life and Im even more proud to be the LIVING example that Black Girls ROCK!!!!

I ROCK because Im a hard worker for mine and I never give up…I’ve been through a lot and I manage to keep positive and strong. Im a single parent with a six year old son, so I must ROCK in order to show my son its nothing to stand on your own and to make it. I’ve done things in life that people doubted I could do. I was once at a breaking point when me and my sons father broke up, and due to that relationship I learned that I deserve much more. I realized that there is no love that should cause physical pain, and also that you should never love someone more then you love yourself keep focused on getting better at anything I do, at times its hard but I come from a strong line of Black women who done for themselves, never letting any thing hold them back. Not only that having so many positive strong black women period showing me and others there is no limit to getting more in life the right way. So to sum it all up being only twenty six years old I’ve been through enough and I have earned it so yes This BLACK GIRL ROCKS for more then one reason.

I rock because I demands respect besides that I control my own future if I make a mistake I learn from it not dwell on it because everything happen for a reason. I make goals and I accomplish them by staying focus and committed. When people say I can’t I don’t just say I will I prove them wrong because can’t is not in my dictionary. I am a single mother, hard worker, and student doing what I have to without any hand outs. I rock because God created me in his own image and everything I have is because of me. So I can say it loud and proud this black girl rocks.

Of course Black women rock! We take a lot, give a lot and endure a lot. No matter how much our spirit is broken from the tragedies of discrimination, oppressions, demotions and annihilations. We’re notorious for being the rock in all hell that breaks loose in our families and communities. We hold it down even if we have to do it alone. We keep kicking doors down and wrestling with the powers that be until SOMEBODY hears us and until SOMEBODY gives us respect! While the world spends so much time uplifting every other cultural identity that is not like us, we continue to make the best with what we have. We survive and forgive nevertheless. No matter how brutal or unfair the world can be. Sure we carry a lot of anger and bitterness, but in time as we evolve as the beautiful women we are, we learn, we blossom, and we what we got from the experiences to teach those around us- our children, our sisters, our friends.

We are very beautiful people inside and out. More people just need to set aside the stereotypes and hate slurs and take the time to get to know us without passing judgement. It is often our environment that makes us the lioness we are, not ourselves. We react to what we live in and live through. Many women tend to succ**b to the environment by living the stereotypes placed on us for generations. But there are others who rise above it and become a undeniable force against those stereotypes.

No people (especially Black men) not all Black women are mean, ghetto, cold blooded, and vulgar. Many of us do have class and we do know how to treat one another with respect. It’s time we stop hating each other and start respecting each other again, no matter who got our man or who’s prettier than who or whatever the issue may be among us. Call me a zealot if you want for seeing a new age of Black women that others deem as impossible. But I am dedicated to getting the word out about the beauty deficit ailing Black women today. We are powerful women and we do rock!
