I’m only 19. Will be 20 this up coming July. My mom and I just finally got our lives back on track. We was homeless for a few years until we had our living situation right. I thought going to College was impossible but I did it. But with all the trauma I went trough I didn’t do so well.

Being raised by a single parent and living in the worst projects in Atlanta, Ga, I had a child at 14. After that, no one believed in me. Especially my mother.she told me that she did not want me in the beginning because my father used to beat her and to this day, at the age of 44 she still treats me bad. Once I finished high school, I went into the Army for 8 years and during the Desert Storm War, I found out that I was HIV positive.

I wore a lot of phony ponies, buns, braids, twists, looking a HAM styles…I didn’t have a set regimen. I went through hell some weeks/months. But it was a learning experience and I enjoyed it most of the time.

It takes a bold woman to own a short haircut and make it look so good. Smurf8209 is rocking her natural curly hair equipped with a fresh lining and faded design in the back. Her curls are shiny and healthy.

I wash my hair first and then I use Lusters pink oil moisturizer to keep it moisturized. I keep it trimmed every 2 weeks

A trending topic around the Black Planet community, regarding the odd “love” triangle between who comes first in a married man’s life: a his mother or his wife, and while gathering my thoughts to write this post, I couldn’t help but compare the situation to that of a game or a pageant type competition.

“First comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the baby in the baby carriage,” right? Well where in that equation does the mother fit in, or is that the point, that once you’ve started your own family it is time to move on? While I’m no mother, wife or soon to be either, it does make me wonder who comes in first places and who is the runner up.

This reminds me of Jim Jones mother, Nancy better known as “Mama Jones” and his fiance and i used that term loose as hell Chrissy’s relationship on VH1′s “Love And Hip Hop.” Jim Jones is torn between his strong-willed, opinionated mother and his relentless fiance Chrissy, but it really should not have to be that way. You should never have to choose between any of the people you love in order to maintain the peace and happiness. Have any of you guys ever been put in that type of situation, if so how did you handle it. If not, what would you do if you were?

Everybody’s done it. You’re catch yourself in the mirror looking fabulous. Hair, makeup, and outfit is banging (for men, the six pack is looking extra toned). You realize you must capture this rare moment and share it with your boyfriend, Twitter followers, Facebook and Black Planet friends. So what do you do? You grab your smartphone, head to the bathroom, flip on the lights and begin your own private photo shoot. The best photo makes it up on your way and gets text to your friend and hopefully your profile page.

We took the best of the bathroom shots and created an album of our favorite mirror members. Take a look. Before you go make sure you read our three simple rules to a perfect mirror photo.

Top Rules to a Great Mirror Photo

Rule #1: Pick your set. Which room in your home offers the best lighting? Decide if it’s going to be the bathroom, bedroom or for those who dare … your car (please make sure you’re in Park before you snap away).

Rule #2: No pigsties please! Before you take that first pic, be sure to look around. Are there towels hanging in the bathroom? What about bras and stockings? If so, take them down immediately. No one wants to see how you live and if you’re hoping to attract the opposite sex your laundry is not going to help you. For extra points, pull the shower curtain behind you for a nice backdrop.

Rule #3: Strike a pose. Are you going for the back shot or the side shot? Pick your best angle but be honest with yourself.

You don’t have to have the radio on for more than five minutes before Nicki Minaj is asking for “Your Love”, Drake is asking to “Find Your Love” and Trey Songz is talking about those “Love Faces” you used to make. With so much play time, these artists are obviously having a monstrously good time on the charts.

So it’s no surprise they’ve captured our attention and got us wondering what’s behind the pink wig and distracting muscles. What could they possibly be hiding? How about their real names? If the theory that resume-friendly names get the interview shouldn’t there be some truth to the fact that attractive names get the iTunes download or radio play? Even fame monster Lady Gaga knew Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta would take her but only so far.
