My added favorites are:

4.) utilize your available credit wisely only spend use 20% of your available credit know your limits
5.) do not keep applying for credit just to see if you can get another card each inquiry brings your score down by 3 to 10 points and will stay on your credit report for 2 years
6.) always check your credit report for errors because all three of those credit reporting dummies equifax, transunions and experian do not report the same information.
7.) creditkarma.com gives you your free transunion score and its a great site to keep track of your credit score
8.) If you can live without credit just do it/save for what you want its better than being in debt.

ok the previous comment is ignorance. Credit scores, no matter why they were established, are now the way to getting lower rates on everything in life that matters to a family(homes, cars, starts of businesses). So unless the idiot talking about the fact that this article advertises enslavement pays for everything in cash or unless he is one of those people who live off of others (commonly known as a leech) he has credit too everyone. It seems as if his credit score may not be all that great and because of that he is lashing out at articles that he should have followed. lol let’s not get upset because you already messed up your score- this is a wonderful article people- it could use a few more specifics, but it is definitely a start.
