I truly believe that on that night, she egged that boy on something fierce! And No MAN is going to accept being talked to any kind of way, hit on and especially not belittled by someone who is supposed to be their WOMAN! No, she did NOT deserve the beating that she received, but yes, she needs to own up to her part in how & why it resulted to that!

This paper says that the largest percentage of violent relationships involve mutual violence (both parties are hitting each other). Next, is FEMALE ONLY violence (the woman hits the man and he doesn’t hit her back). MALE ONLY violence (where the man hits the woman and she doesn’t hit back) is actually the least common of the three. The last two or three generations of men have had it drummed into our heads that it is wrong to hit women, but who is drumming it into the heads of young girls that it’s just as wrong to hit a man? Every time something like this happens, the woman or girl is portrayed purely as a victim, as if her actions weren’t wrong, or didn’t matter.

Also, if men are so inherently violent, why is the rate of domestic violence among lesbian couples just as high as heterosexual couples? And why do gay male couples actually have the lowest rates of domestic violence? The highest rates of violence occur where there is one or more women. The lowest rates of violence occur where there is no woman present at all. These are the facts, yet society insists that MEN are always the violent ones? This whole theory of men always being the abuser is based on false logic. It is a fact that men tend to me more violent OUTSIDE the home, but in the home, it’s a different story.

I’ve been in an abusive relationship and I can tell you that as a man, it can be just as bad, if not worse than it is for women. At least a woman will usually have the law on her side if she decides to report it. Men who report domestic abuse usually receive little if any help. In the state of Washington, it is actually illegal for state-run domestic violence shelters to offer any assistance to a battered man.

When my ex nearly broke my nose on xmas day because I didn’t know where her bottle of rum was, no one felt sorry for me. When she was taking my debit card and withdrawing all my money out of the bank so I couldn’t go anywhere unless SHE said so, no one offered me any help. When she destroyed my belongings, everyone knew about it, but no one looked down on her. Through all of that, I never laid a hand on her, yet I was looked at as being in the wrong. Oddly enough, the only people who believed me were HER parents, because they witnessed the whole xmas day thing. And they still did nothing as far as encouraging her to get help.

I grew up being taught and thinking, “I’ll never hit a woman.” But because of what I’ve experienced, I now say, “I’ll never hit a woman FIRST…”

So yeah, if Rhianna has a history of violence and abuse in her past, then it SHOULD be made public, the same way Chris Brown’s abusive stepfather and the violence he saw growing up was immediately brought up when this first happened. To do anything less is to bullshit ourselves about domestic violence, and strengthens our commitment to solving only HALF of the problem…

I saw her version of the incident on 20/20 with some friends and we all agreed she must’ve said something. She said it was the text from his ex but I personally think he Jay-Z’s name came up when she accused him and that’s when “she looked into his eyes and saw no soul.” I still don’t believe she just sat there, while dude is driving during the 30 minutes she endured his violence and thought of not protecting herself or fighting back. But really, he was driving that small ass car and managed to hit her, bite her, put her in a neck hold, and throw her cell out the window prior to her calling her assistant and she just took the abuse.

But forget all of that, what the hell was she thinking when Diane Sawyer told her: no one would ever think you would get in an abused relationship, that she is strong and she replied: “I am strong. I’m GLAD this happened to me.” WHAT THE FUCK? Homegirl doesn’t know that you can speak about domestic violence without having gotten beaten yourself. She can use examples of when her dad did that to her mom.

Oprah does not deal with the realities of life. She is not a mother and seems indifferent to the needs of young men and Wendy Williams is still under the influence from her party days. She is not worth a show, but thats my opinionated fact. White America always turn their backs on our celebrities at one point or other. I hope ALL the perpertrators are ready when their times come!
