As a mother of a daughter with Mariah’s exact hair, complexion and that creates
other *identity* issues, I know FIRST HAND what it is like (pure hell) trying to get in where you fit in when it comes to the black community. They don’t accept you and view you as an outsider trying to *fit* in. Lighter to fair skinned complexioned kids do much better and fair much better in either a more white and or mixed community than they do in an already issue plagued, black one. These beautiful children will always have to prove themselves worthy to be considered one of *us* simply based on the color of their skin, color of their eyes, the shape of their nose and hair type which is seen more as *different* than as the same. It was pure hell for my daughter, and I really didn’t realize the extent and degree to which she was subjugated to such hate (and envy) until after she’d graduated high school and became grown.

Not only was it hard for her, but as her mother, I had one so called girlfriend (finally) tell me that she thought I was *tainted* (and so was my beautiful baby) for having a baby with a white man! WDF?!? What fkg stupidity!

For the person who doesn’t know what being *mixed* is, it is anyone born to two people who are of different ethnicities. With her father having a mixed heritage and not being fully white, automatically gave Mariah hers. So, yeah, she is most definitely a mixed, bi-racial…or more accurately, a TRI-racial child…but never the less, she is both beautiful, inside and out. I wish her and Nick nothing but the best and all of the happiness in the world!

Just for clarification, Mariah, Em, nor Nick pay my bills, so don’t fool yourself into thinking I personally will get emotional off of shit anyone has to say about any of them. Now stupidity is a whole other thing. You see to state your oppinion is one thing, but if you’re going to start naming facts, then make sure those facts are correct. When I open my mouth I know what the fu** I’m talking about, or I don’t say sh**. Oh and I recognize everyone has an oppinion, that is why I did not make any attempts what so ever to check nobody on their personal oppinion about MiMi. Either you like her or you don’t. I will admit it does get on my nerves when white women or black women feel they have some type of authority to speak on what it is like to be biracial. If a white women gets her dumb ass on her and starts spouting off some sh** about what is like to be black oh there would be plenty of sisters ready to tell her she don’t know the first thing about being black. Well that is my oppinion about anyone other than another biracial person feeling they have some sort of right to speak on how easy or hard it is to be biracial. If you are not biracial you don’t know what it is like to be biracial, flat out. Some of us are strong, know who we are, and don’t let the bullshit bring us down, but others have a real hard time trying to adjust. That usually happens when they waste their time trying to justify who they are to either racial group they belong to. A MESSAGE TO ALL BIRACIAL PEOPLE, we are who we are, we don’t have to explain shit, answer for shit, or prove shit. You are half and half, so embrace both sides, hold your head in pride, and fu** the haters. When those of us who struggle with being multicultural learn to accept and own both sides of our heritage, and realize that we don’t have to be one or the other we will find peace in who we are. Me I love being African American, and Sicilian, growing up in two different cultures, helped me to understand that in one way or the other we all are different somehow, and rather than hate on people because they are different than you, one stands to learn a lot more when they embrace the variety in life that those differences bring. I don’t want the rest of the world to be just like me. I like meeting new people, hearing new opinions, and learning new things. None of that would be possible if we all looked and thought alike. So to anyone who may have been offended by what I said, you are entitled to your oppinion, and I ain’t mad at you. I’m just not the one to shut up and be quiet when I know false facts are being stated.

It must be very tough growing up looking totally white or maybe ‘other” but most definitely not at all black and then claiming to be mixed – lol! She should have just passed for white and stfu – she lived w/her white momma she w/have been fine. She disowned being black when Tommy Matola had her first come out then next thing u know she had negros all around her talking bout her daddy a fourth black – w/e – she can sing her ass off and she’s a singer.
