An ABC News reporter caused some drama last night after taking to his Twitter account and writing this:
Obama’s remark was actually made in an off-the-record portion of a CNBC interview, but Terry Moran made the mistake of posting it for all the public to see. Although Moran quickly removed the tweet, it was too late. He gained followers left and right, and currently has over a million. A spokesperson for the news network explained:
“In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again.”
