For many of women’s sexual experiences, there’s an unfortunate tug-of-war that can occur between our desire for a man to use protection and his desire to, well, not. But there’s an additional component of consent that goes along with that decision and that’s actually keeping the condom on during the entirety of the sexual act.

Stealthing is the name for the act of removing a condom without consent during sex and, in case it isn’t blatantly obvious, is also a form of sexual assault. In fact, legislation has been introduced in California that would add stealthing to the official definition of rape in the state. Confused by this behavior or its implications on women’s bodies?
