The win for Ashanti against her psycho stalker is bittersweet.

In the Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday, Devar Hurd, 37, was found guilty of stalking, harassing and violating strict orders of protection after his first conviction in 2014. Yes, this is a long time coming for the singer.

According to the New York Daily News, this is the third attempt to convict the delusional man. His first trial in 2014 resulted in a mistrial because a juror got sick during deliberations. In October 2015, he was convicted on several counts including criminal contempt but the jury could not reach a consensus on the top count.

Hurd was originally arrested after being found guilty of felony 2nd degree stalking against the “Braveheart” singer. He’s been in jail ever since, which could knock off time served for the four years he was sentenced to this week.

Time and charges aside, the really creepy part is that this man really believes he’s in a relationship with the 34-year-old star, even attending events hosted by her sister, to get in contact with Ashanti.

“I know how you are when it comes to our sex life … [it’s] very emotional on both ends,” he said in court according to TMZ. Adding, “You do lap dances for your performances, correct? I don’t have a problem with it, I’m just saying.”

Ah.. come again?

In response to the verdict, Ashanti spoke out on Twitter. “First & Foremost thank you God!!!!,” she said. “Thanku guys for all of your love, support & Prayers!!!! Verdict is in. #Guilty.” Adding in a longer note on Instagram right after.

We’re hoping with this guy locked up, that she can go back to life as normal. There’s nothing more eery than a crazy stalker, so we hope this will be the last of this lunacy.
