Showing off on the ‘gram may have landed 50 Cent in major legal trouble. Last July, the rapper filed for bankruptcy in lieu of paying $7 million to Lastonia Leviston over a leaked sex tape and $18 million to a former partner in a failed headphone deal.
While many people would have maintained a sense of humility after publicly declaring their financial issues, 50 has been showing off on Instagram. The mogul notoriously took stacks of $100 bills and spelled out “BROKE”. He’s posted pics of thousands of dollars spread out across his bed and in his refrigerator with the caption, “Gotta keep a cool little $tash and some Effen Vodka Happy Holidays.”
50 also posts opulent photos on private jets and with expensive diamond jewelry. Leviston brought the braggadocious photos to the attention of Judge Ann Nevins who’s since ordered the rapper back to court to explain himself.
“I’m concerned about allegations of nondisclosure and a lack of transparency in the case,” said Judge Nevins “There’s a purpose of having a bankruptcy process be transparent, and part of that purpose is to inspire confidence in the process.”
According to the NY Daily News, 50’s lawyers said that he’ll be “forthcoming and transparent with all creditors,” and that the musician would appear in court to address the judge’s questions.
