“Taraji P. Henson’s dress was very simple and elegant – a classic old Hollywood silhouette,” he said. “I thought about pairing the look with a retro hairdo or playing off the Grecian style, but instead I thought something playful, sexy and modern. A look that speaks to my effortless aesthetic.”

Get his tips for recreating Taraji’s hairstyle below:

1. Begin with clean hair. Wash your strands with MIZANI True Textures Moisture Replenish Shampoo and follow up with MIZANI True Textures Moisture Replenish Conditioner.

2. For a heat protectant before blow-drying, apply MIZANI Thermastrength Heat Styling Serum on hair while still slightly damp.

3. Create a deep side part and apply MIZANI Defyne Wax to create texture without weighing the hair down.
