Sheryl Lee Ralph is one of our favorite Hollywood divas to get advice from. The legendary Tony Award-winner stopped by our studios to share information on how HIV testing has become more important than ever.

Sheryl has been an activist for the last 30 years. She revealed that she became involved in the cause to raise awareness for HIV & AIDS after witnessing so many of her friends in theater succumbing to the disease.

“This was a time when I saw my friends get sick and die,” she said. “They got sick and died. There was none of this in between stuff.”

Now, three decades later, Sheryl tells TeamBeautiful that she is heartbroken to see how many new diagnoses are still popping up, especially when the virus is so preventable.

She praised Charlie Sheen, who recently announced on the Today Show that he is HIV positive, for his courageous revelation.

“At least now we are winning on the conversation, because the conversation had gone dead,” she said.

Check out all of Sheryl’s interview, and find out how you can get yourself tested in the privacy of your own home, in the video above.
