Adele’s highly anticipated album ’25’ drops today, but it will not be available to stream.

The bold move comes in the midst of  the industry still trying to settle its uncomfortable relationship with online music streaming services.

Other artists, such as Taylor Swift, opted to pull her music from Spotifyand Jay-Z bought Tidal to put the power and dollars of streaming back into artist’s pockets.

Adele was reportedly personally involved in the decision, although her camp declined to comment, according to The New York Times.

Perhaps she will let Spotify et al get their hands on it in a year to boost CD/virtual sales, a move Beyonce pulled for her self titled album release in 2013.
