From the moment we first heard Tyanna Jones sing (she wowed us with a soulful rendition of Little Mix’s “Wings”), we noticed an undeniable sparkle in the Jacksonville, Florida native that we believed would carry her to the final bout in the competition. She isn’t there quite yet, but we’re willing to bet our brunch money she’ll make it.

Her emotional story, about her family’s struggle with homelessness, tugged on our heartstrings even more. She had us locked in from the very beginning.

We’ve tuned in week after week to watch Jones perform songs like “Love On Top” by Beyonce, “I Wanna Dance With Somebody” by Whitney Houston and this week’s choice, “Stay” by Rihanna. With her signature blue purple hair neatly combed into a pompadour and polka dot blouse peaking beneath her blazer, she reminds us of a young Janelle Monae.

Jones’ vocal showing earned her a spot in the Top 8 and we have a feeling she’s going to take it all the way. How can you not get goosebumps listening to her rich vocals?

With a few more weeks to go, we’re keeping track of her greatest performances. Check them out below and be sure to vote for Jones here.
