He died of melanoma, maybe that made him more susceptible to other opportunistic infections but the underlying cause was melanoma. Black people, dont think you cant get skin cancer, is it lower than our fairer skinned cohorts, yes… do we get it, yes! if u have skin, you can get skin cancer…. no one said it was ALL environmental, your genetics can also make u more prone to melanoma. you might just be genetically predisposed to getting melanoma. ive seen patients at the hospital i work with that have stage 4 metastatic melanoma, black, white , hispanic and asian that are all under 18, no one has had enough exposure to sun for it to be environmental at that age from normal exposure so uhm, ya, you CAN get it. is it likely, no… possible, yes….
