Wendy Williams made a huge, confetti-covered announcement as she celebrated the next milestone in her career.

After being inducted into the Smithsonian and releasing a new book, one might think that Wendy’s year couldn’t get any bigger. Those assumptions would be wrong!

The chat diva brought out Dionne Warwick and Tony Cornelius, the son of “Soul Train” creator Don Cornelius, to share some amazing news with her audience members today: Wendy’s going to host this year’s Soul Train Awards!

Millions of people watch Wendy every day now, but it turns out that Don was a huge fan of Wendy’s before he died. “My father always though highly of you. He always thought you were aggressive; you could make it happen Now you’ve become this media personality,” Tony said, explaining Don’s deep admiration for Wendy. “I’m announcing today, on your show, the host of the 2014 Soul Train Music Awards is the one and only Wendy Williams.”

Of course Wendy accepted the gig with lots of flair, and she vowed to deliver just as much when she hosts the awards ceremony in a few weeks! “I am so excited to be such a big part of such a big musical night. I’m going to give you razzle dazzle and costume changes and jokes for days!” Wendy promised while thanking Dionne and Tony. “I will not let you guys down!”

See how Wendy keeps the party going when The 2014 Soul Train Awards air November 30 at 8 p.m. on Centric.

In other Wendy news, her former radio cohort Charlamagne Tha God has spoken out on that she leveled last week when she claimed that she had no idea who he is.

Despite his somewhat crude demeanor on the radio, Charlamagne was surprisingly respectful when he addressed the matter during his podcast “The Brilliant Idiots.” He wasn’t afraid to admit that what Wendy said hurt his feelings.

“That woman put me in the position that I’m in now. I could never talk bad about her,” he said when the topic came up. According to him, their falling out was very sudden, and it happened via text message. Charlamagne claims that Wendy’s husband, Kevin Hunter, sent him a message cutting him off in February 2010 and that they haven’t spoken since.

Wendy’s comment that she seemed not to know who Charlamagne is was baffling to her former side kick, who introduced her when she was inducted into the radio hall of fame. Still he’s not letting her actions change his feelings about her as a person.

“I don’t know why she did that, but the only thing I can honestly and truly say is that it did hurt. But I got nothing but love for Wendy Williams and Kevin Hunter. Number one, for the position they put me in and two, because I genuinely had a good time with them.”

Charlamagne’s co-host comedian Andrew Schulz, though? He was a lot less diplomatic! Check out how he dragged her when you skip ahead to the 1:12:53 mark!
