Tamar Braxton is a mother, wife, talk show host, singer (who is currently on tour) and stars in two reality shows–“Tamar & Vince” and “Braxton Family Values,” so it’s no wonder that sometimes, she gets tired. Her grueling schedule doesn’t lend itself to much free time, and we think our girl is starting to feel the strain of it all.
During a recent performance in Las Vegas, the “Hot Sugar” singer showed up an hour and a half late, only to leave the stage after performing for 15 minutes. She was able to get herself together and returned to the stage to finish out her show, but she wanted to give her “Tamartians” an explanation. She posted the above photo on Instagram with the caption:
I really felt like last night was #lightsout for me!! I felt sooo bad I was shaking. I honestly couldn’t remember a lyric ( which is nothing new) a dance step(everynight) but…I never lost my MYSELF where my body took over my mind and left me helpless. I wanted to stay but I couldn’t. I wanted to drink water and catch my breath but I couldn’t. I, Tamar, for the first time who has always been able to figure it out and work through ANYTHING simply couldn’t do ANYTHING but gasp for air and ask for help!! I was powerless and heartbroken. 😢…….☝️However, my #DallasTamartians held me down & reminded me what a #RealTrueTamartian is!!! I tried to get up and go back 3 times but I couldn’t move, talk, sing & worse, breathe. Not until I heard how after all that time past that you ALL was waiting for me no one left! HOB was Just as packed And energetic as if you all JUST got there!! I GOT my life last night cause u gave it to me! I walked back on stage feeling defeated, frustrated, scared, VOICELESS and STILL u ALL excepted &still loved the REAL Tamar your #tamartianfriend just as I was and THAT is how my voice came back I had a TON of energy and you even sang every song until I could do it by myself!! I KNOW you love me for ME!!! And because of this I’ll never forget how u changed my life last night & you all have left me feeling that I will NEVER be the same! Thank you for saving me! I’ll ALWAYS be here and #fight4you❤️(shout out to my MAN for Never leaving my side and ALWAYS having my back!! I❤️you)… L.A…..I feel amazing so let’s GO! See you tonight 😘
#TeamBeautiful got the chance to catch up with the liveliest of the Braxton sisters bunch in New Orleans during the Essence Music Festival and we had to ask her about the collapse and what it meant to her as an artist. Here’s what she had to say:
HelloBeautiful: What happened in Vegas that made you leave the stage?
Tamar Braxton: It didn’t only impact me as a singer, but also as a person. It changed me a little bit because people look at being a celebrity as entitlement. You’re entitled to have nominations, to get into a party or whatever. When that happened in Vegas, I was humbled because not one person left. They wanted to be there. For me, I don’t take anything for granted. I have more love and admiration for my Tamartian friends. They’re here for me. I’ve never had real friends before, so that’s why I call them Tamaratian friends. [laughs]

HB: How did that episode challenge you as a performer?
TB: It had nothing to do with the workload. It had everything to do with the smoke. I can’t even go to hookah bars with my friends. The House Of Blues had their smoke machine on, all day long. By the time I got to my 8-count honey, it was in my lungs and I was done.
HB: What’s coming up next for you?
TB: I’m definitely working on my next album. I think it’s the next level to “Love & War,” with the way the songs are shaping up. Where Vince and I are in our relationship, things are different now. It’s a new place. We’re new parents and that takes your relationship somewhere else and no one told me that. We’re figuring things out and this album is juicy honey!
We’re rooting for Tamar. She’s def one of our fave entertainers and we want nothing, but to see her shine!
