Tender is a brand new swanky, sexy and delicious restaurant in Sanctuary Hotel in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. The menu features Modern American cuisine and an impressive sushi selection created by Executive Chef Dale Schnell whose experience includes positions at The Setai Fifth Avenue, Picholine (NYC), KTCHN at THE OUT NYC and the world’s only 7-star hotel The Burj al Arab in Dubai, where he lent his culinary expertise to the property’s six restaurants.

You can literally taste the stunning fusion in many dishes like the organic roasted Chicken, Atlantic salmon, the polenta lasagna and asparagus risotto with baby scallops. Tender was clearly designed to evolve with each guest over the course of the evening, from casual cocktails and small bites, to formal dining and late night revelry. Tender offers a beautiful selection of premium cuts, from mouthwatering filet mignon, to a perfectly prepared dry aged NY strip and beyond. And I promise you that every dish is the most mouth-watering, life-changing experience.

When I tell you the that you must get the avocado fries as an appetizer, I am only steering you in the best direction possible in life. These crispy and somehow still creamy fries are the most delicious and surprising app on the menu!

Tender will make you want to order everything! Starters include wild ginger edamame, black cod butter lettuce and spicy tuna crispy rice. Side dishes, such as the truffle fries, sautéed haricots verts and shiitake and yukon gold mashed potatoes, are also a must try. For those who enjoy Japanese eats, Tender features a 10-piece Omakase and six non-traditional sushi rolls from Sushi Chef Edwin Purnomo who previously worked at Sushi of Gari for five years.

Oh and I can’t forget the drinks! Award-winning mixologist Isaac Grillo from Haven South Beach, who was also responsible for creating the cocktail programs for The W Miami Beach and Barton G, has come to New York City to conceptualize and create Tender’s signature cocktail menu, which will pair perfectly with the restaurant’s dinner offerings. Please try the Yuzu margarita for a strong and delicious drink to keep you feeling warm and fuzzy. And PS–the hostesses and the wait staff are not only sexy, but they’re fun and love to dance! Hoteliers Hank Freid and Brandon Freid are the creative forces behind Tender, a new dining experience within The Sanctuary Hotel.Hank Freid is the CEO and Founder of The Impulsive Group, a lifestyle hospitality company, which includes a portfolio of unique boutique hotel properties in New York City and a luxury yacht fleet in Europe, the Caribbean and Miami. Brandon Freid is The Impulsive Group¹s COO, having worked in the hospitality industry for over 10 years. The father and son team opened their newest property, The Sanctuary Hotel; in 2011 and in June 2012 successfully unveiled Haven Rooftop, restaurant and lounge. The Freid¹s have brought on board Jason Apfelbaum as The Sanctuary Hotel¹s Food & Beverage Director. Apfelbaum previously ran food and beverage operations for Morgans Hotel Group in addition to founding Chef & Company in 1999, which he ran successfully for over 12 years.
