No longer “Akila and the Bee,” actress Keke Palmer has grown into a beautiful young woman. Her BET Awards 2014 look was definitely showcasing the beautiful young woman she is today. Her stylist Jamika Wilson aimed for a sleek, sexy and sophisticated look while having a little fun. I think she nailed it!

Here’s how Jamika created Keke’s look:

I applied Motions Straight Finish Sealer to the dry, clean hair and massaged throughout the entire hair. The formulate de-frizzes, adds moisture and protects the hair all in one! Sectioning the hair into small chunks, I flat ironed the hair with a Sedu Revolution Flat Iron. The hair was flat ironed going back away from the face, and then combed into place. Using Motions Shine Enhancing Pomade, the front of the hair was set into place by applying to the entire front hair line. This holds the edges, adds shine and gives sleekness to the look.

The last two steps were simple. I took a dime size amount of Motions Natural Textrues Radiating Hair Gloss and applied to the straightened hair to bring the hair to a tailored, polish look. Starting at the middle of the hair all the way down. The look was finished with a few sprays of Motions Hold & Shine Styling Spray. The control sets the look into place and the brilliant shine completes the look. The hair is set for hours!

The sleek, sexy and sophisticated style was perfect for the red carpet and can easily be achieved at home!

NOTE: If you are doing this style at home, I would recommend starting with Motions Straight Finish Cleanser and Leave-In Conditioner. They are the perfect prep for this sleek look!
