Columbus Short was fired from ABC’s “Scandal” last month, but luckily for him, his career in show business isn’t over.
Despite his legal issues and history of violent behavior, the actor is starring in a new romantic comedy titled Mr. Right. The flick, produced by Swirl Films Productions, is currently shooting in Atlanta.

As we reported earlier, the former gladiator is also trying out a career in stand-up comedy. In an on-the-street interview with TMZ last week, the actor-turned-wannabe comic said he’s starting from the bottom. “I’m doing stand-up,” he shared outside of Flappers Comedy Club in Burbank. “Started from the bottom, now we’re here…back at the bottom!”
In related news, Short is due back in a Los Angeles courtroom for a hearing in his assault case on Monday.
