The announcement about Dwayne Wade’s new lovechild just days after his new engagement to Gabrielle Union was….messy, to say the least, but there is one person who’s staying all the way out of it! “New Girl” star Damon Wayne Jr., who has two daughters with Aja Metoyer, the mother of Wade’s new baby boy (she sure does have a thing for the DW initials, huh?) shared his thoughts on the ordeal.

I really have nothing to do with Aja’s situation,” Damon told TMZ of his 30-year-old ex.  “We both live completely separate lives, aside from co-parenting. My concern are my daughters and that they don’t get hurt in any of this. He even added that his girls, “love their little brother and that’s all I care about.”

Wade has claimed that he and fiancee Gabrielle Union were on a break when his latest child, who was born on November 10, 2013, was conceived. TMZ also reports that while Metoyer didn’t list Wade (or anyone else for that matter) as the father on the birth certificate, she did give the child Wade’s last name. The baby boy was christened Xavier Zechariah Wade.

As for Gabby? The “Being Mary Jane” star hit her Twitter with a not so subliminal message when the news of the new child hit the web, December 30th:

And this morning the actress posted pictures on her social media accounts showing off her rock and a smile along side her boo and the caption, “And in other news… Happy Freakin New Year!!! #eatpraylove #lovelightpeace:”

Welp, moving on! It’s not like we haven’t see these blended families work out in the public eye before…
