Singer Eric Benét has been out of the spotlight for a while but he has plans to make a comeback in the television world.

The Grammy-nominated artist will host and executive produce a new reality show about subways musicians, called “Sub Stars.” According to a press release, the series will put “the best ‘underground’ musicians discovered in the subway systems of major U.S. cities against one another.”

But, the show isn’t a “go” just yet. “Sub Stars” producers, entertainment company Viardo Artists and production company Natural 9 Entertainment, launched a Kickstarter campaign last week to help fund the project. According to the site, the fundraiser will continue until December 20 with the hopes of reaching their $400,000 goal.

“We are truly trying to make history together and deliver a fan experience like never before,” creator Phil Viardo said in a statement. Benét added, “[‘Sub Stars’] gives truly unique characters, with a different and innovative sound, a platform to showcase their musical individualism and talent.”

There is no denying the talent found in some of America’s train stations. Does this sound like a show you’d watch? Weigh in below.
