Yosra El-Essawy landed her dream job as Beyoncé’s official world tour photographer this year. However, an unexpected health issue forced her to cut the once-in-a-lifetime experience short.

“In June 2013 whilst on Beyoncé’s ‘The Mrs Carter Show World Tour’ just shy of my 32nd birthday, I was diagnosed with stage 4, inoperable oeseophageal cancer,” the London native wrote her on her blog. “Doctors said they couldn’t cure me, that they could only hope to maintain my cancer.”

However, to the doctor’s surprise, Yosra recently shared that her cancer reduced by 30 percent in just three chemo cycles. “Shocked and perplexed, my doctors hugged and high fived me, looking at me with confused smiles on their faces. I am the talk of the department,” she said. “Of course they may put it down to my cocktail of daily drugs and yes, they certainly have a big part to play in my treatment but what I have always known in my heart is that love and acceptance has been my biggest healer. I have always had tremendous love in my life but since my diagnosis, it has reached such overwhelming heights, that even I am in disbelief.”
