Kelly Price has worked with such artists as Sean “Diddy” Combs, Faith Evans, Eric Clapton, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston, and she’s one the more famous cast members on “R&B Divas: LA,” which also features Lil’ Mo, Claudette Ortiz, Dawn Robinson, Chante Moore and Michel’le Toussaint.

R&B fans will tell you that this Queens, New York, native—born April 3, 1973—is the artist behind such hits as “Friend of Mine,” “Secret Love,” “As We Lay” and “Love Sets You Free.” She’s also sung on numerous hits for other artists, and she says that her plus-size figure kept her from receiving the kind of recognition skinnier singers achieved during the same period. It’s for that reason that Kelly Price working on another TV project called “Too Fat For Fame,” a show she called “kind of a cross between Big Brother and American Idol” in an interview with Music X Infinity.

Who is Kelly Price? She’s more than just a singer, as TV One explains in her official “R&B Divas: LA” biography. Kelly Price has modeled for Ashley Stewart and Lane Bryant and appeared in the films “Soul Food” and “Bringing Down the House.” She’s married to manager Jeffrey Rolle, and the couple has three children.

Given the buzz surrounding “R&B Divas: LA,” the question isn’t “Who is Kelly Price?” but rather “What is Kelly Price doing next?” Responding to Music X Infinity’s query about whether new music is on the way, she responded with enthusiasm.

“Oh gosh yes! Absolutely,” she said. “Single by the end of the year, album by the top of the year. I feel like I can do music in my sleep, so I kind of relax on telling myself ah, I can get a record done in just a few weeks, but I have to remember that the fans, are not really trying to hear that, they want new music. So absolutely you will have new music by the fourth quarter.”
