Drake was a no-show at the 2013 BET Awards even thought he lead the pack with a total of 12 nominations.
The Young Money rapper recently reached out to BET to explain his absence and apologize for missing the big show.
“The BET Awards are always a good time and I’m sorry I could not be there to celebrate,” he said in a statement. “I’m in Toronto due to a family matter but I have a lot of gratitude for BET and the fans.”

Drake won awards for Video of the Year, Best Collaboration and Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award, tying with the night’s other top winner Kendrick Lamar.
Nothing Was the Same, the rapper’s third studio album, is due for a September 17th release.
