Celebrity chef, Paula Deen has been facing the fire lately for alleged racist and sexist comments in her Savannah restaurant. Deen stood Matt Lauer up, as she was scheduled to appear on his show to offer her formal apology. After tweeting that a public apology was coming, Paula appeared via video and apologized for her use of the derogatory language and begged to be forgiven. Instead, she was taken for a joke by many on social media, using the hashtag #PaulaDeenApologyBingo and to make matters worse, she was promptly released from her Food Network and Smithfield Foods gigs.

Now Paula’s sons, Jamie and Bobby are speaking up in defense of their mother. The two appeared on CNN’s “New Day” with Chris Cuomo to clear her blackened (pun intended) name. Bobby claims that his mother was asked about the use of the N-word throughout her whole life, thus forcing her to admit that she’s a racist. Bobby called it extortion and now it’s character assassination. He can’t be serious! And on top of his ridiculous claims, Jamie just couldn’t wait to tell the story about him idolizing Hank Aaron growing up. That’s the infamous, “I’m not a racist, my maid is Black” defense.

“We were raised in a home with love, of faith…and a house where God lived,” Bobby claims. “Our mother is one of the most compassionate, good-hearted, empathetic people that you’d ever meet. These accusations are very hurtful to her, and it’s very sad. Frankly, I’m disgusted by the whole thing.”

Yeah, Bobby, so are we. What’s hilarious is that Bobby claims his family would has never taught him any type of racism. So when his Uncle Bubba claimed the U.S. should send President Obama to the Gulf so that he could “n*gger-rig” it wasn’t racist at all?

Dear Deens–have several seats. Stand up and sit all the way back down again.
