Mary J. Blige and Jennifer Lopez’s killer performance at last week’s Chime For Change concert left many fans wondering if they’ll see a collaboration between the entertainment powerhouses in the near future.

In a recent radio interview, Lopez opened up about her new album and revealed that a duet with her idol may be in the works!

“I just had a big dream come through when I performed at Chime for Change with Mary J., I’ve always kind of wanted to work with her,” she said. “We’re thinking about it, I’m going to do something on her Christmas album…I told her about this song on my album, and she’s like ‘send it to me, I know it’s gonna be amazing’.”

J.Lo went on to say that her upcoming project will have “a different sound.”

“I haven’t gotten the album done…For me, until they tell me I have to turn it in, I keep going until the last minute, I keep creating, I keep trying new songs, new things, tweaking the ones that I love,” she said. “It’s gonna be a different sound, I think a lot has happened to me in the past year or two, I’ve changed a little bit, my ideas about love has changed…you grow.”

Her forthcoming eighth studio album is die for a late 2013 or early 2014 release.
