Jay-Z’s mother may run her son’s charity full time but she says her favorite job is being Blue Ivy’s grandmother!
Gloria Carter caught up with Us Weekly at a Mother’s Day event for the Shawn Carter Foundation, and she gushed about the joys of watching Jay and Beyonce’s 16-month-old bundle of joy grow and learn.

“She’s very very smart,” she said. “When you’re around her, when she looks at you and she’s tired of you, she looks at you and she says, ‘bye bye!'”
“So with me I’m like, ‘No bye bye! No bye bye!'” she said, laughing.
She went on to say that her favorite part of being a grandparent is that it’s not a full-time job. “The amazing thing about being a grandmother is that you go get the kids, but when you’re tired, you can take them home,” she joked.
On a more serious note, Ms. Carter said she can’t hide her joy when she sees her youngest son spending quality time with his daughter.
“It warms my heart to see how he interacts with his daughter,” she said. “And when she says, ‘Papa,’ he just melts. He’s a great dad.”
Jay is such an amazing father that when reporters asked Grandma Carter if he wants more kids, she said “I think so!”
