Alice + Olivia designer, Stacey Bendet, is a bonified mix-master and this was evident in her Fall 2013 collection. Bendet, who’s also known for a lightheated, fun aesthetic and curve-flattering cuts, had a little something for everyone with this array of prints, textures, and silhouettes.

Themes varied from preppy to sporty to edgy rocker. With so much going on, it could easily come off as overwhelming, but everything meshed together brilliantly. Colors were vibrant and plentiful. Most popular were red, navy, and shimmery metallics. Red has rightfully earned its place as one of Fall’s hottest hues with its presence in a number of shows this season.

Prints were played well with solids, as seen on a royal blue turtleneck paired a voluminous floor length skirt. Standouts in this collection included: a quilted leather jacket and tulle skirt, a white tank paired with highwaisted black pants (these would look great on curvy girls), and a minimal-style shimmery suit and white sweater set. She kept things interesting with whimsical accessories like face-detailed pumps and an adorable zebra purse. Other notable bags: a pretty blue printed purse and various structured handbags. Coats were in small supply, but favorites were a round shouldered black with red lapel and a sleek greenish-grey. Overall, this collection would suit almost anyone. Brandy, with her diverse style moments would be my first pick.
