I watch “Basketball Wives LA” every Monday night just like you. My favorite personality on the show is Malaysia Pargo, not because she’s the prettiest or best dressed, but because she is the realest and having interviewed her on several occasions, I know she is genuine person. Then again, if you watch the show, you know that! This year Malaysia teamed up with the Book Bank foundation to tour the five boroughs of NYC and give back to the children and the less fortunate. I was blessed to be invited along the way.
After meeting up at the Barclay’s center in Brooklyn, we loaded a charter bus and headed past Marcy projects to visit our first stop–the Success Academy–in Bed-stuy. Students packed the auditorium and immediately recognized Malaysia, who was dressed down in Ugg boots and wearing modest purple sweater. Malaysia hugged one pupil, who seemed to be fighting back tears, then held her close as she delivered an inspiring speech.
Thanks for inviting me Malaysia!
