Jennifer Hudson is a dynamic superstar with a resiliency that’s admirable.  As Oprah’s latest interviewee on Oprah’s Next Chapter,’ we got a chance to see the personal side of Jennifer. We learned more about the woman beyond the role of Effie in “Dreamgirls.”

Early in the interview, Hudson was joined by her soon-to-be husband David Otunga, and we got to see just how vulnerable J Hud can be.  I’m often in awe of the how gracefully strong Jennifer has been  through the los of her family. It was endearing to see her let lose with her fiance and watch them flirt with one another. Oprah asked Otunga about the difference between size 6 Jennifer and size 16 Jennifer and while he loves them both, Otunga claimed, “I enjoy the curves.”

My favorite part was seeing Jennifer live out “Hatch Day–” a celebration her slain nephew,Julian created, which they now celebrate to remember him. She and her sister Julia handed out school supplies to students in need, which in turn, helps her deal with her loss.

The interview became emotional as soon Julia joined Jennifer on the couch. Oprah asked Julia why she didn’t listen when her ex-husband (the killer of Jennifer’s family) threatened the lives of her family. A teary-eyed Julia admitted that she didn’t take those ominous words as a threat. Oprah took it a few steps further by asking if Jennifer ever blamed Julia for her family’s murders.
