Drake’s obsession with the late Aaliyah has manifested itself into a full album to pay tribute to the fallen star. Drake’s been receiving a lot of criticism from Aaliyah fans who think he’s excluding people like Missy Elliott and Timbaland–who were the foundation to Aaliyah’s rising star. MuchMusic caught up with Drizzy at Ovo Fest and confirmed that there will indeed be an Aaliyah album.

When asked about the “Enough Said” single featuring Aaliyah’s soft voice “yeah yeah’ing”” all over the track, Drake mentioned that it wasn’t about he or Noah “40” Shebib (the producer); he said it was about Aaliyah and giving her fans more of her music.

“It’s not about me. It’s not about 40. It’s about her and her fans. Everybody from her family to her old management and label were like, ‘If there’s anybody out that can do this now, it’s me and 40. That was an honor and we’re going to pull in some classic people–like anyone that used to work with Aaliyah and essential in her career. You’ll get a new Aaliyah album this year.”
