William Balfour, the man responsible for slaying Jennifer Hudson’s family has finally gotten what he deserved. Jennifer Hudson returned to her home to Chicago to attend Balfour’s sentencing. Balfour, 31, offered “condolences” to the Hudson family for what he’s done before he heard his fate.

The hardest part for Hudson had to be when Balfour claimed to be sorry, especially when he said, “My deepest sympathies go to Julian King. I loved him. I still love him.” While Balfour made his speech, he faced his own family, not Hudson’s. A female member of Balfour’s family burst into tears and ran out of the courtroom after Balfour spoke. Jennifer and Julia Hudson both dabbed at their eyes with tissues during the testimony.

According to TMZ, Hudson’s former brother-in-law received three consecutive life sentences for ending the lives of Jennifer’s mom Darnell Donerson, her brother Jason Hudson and nephew Julian King. He was also convicted of home invasion and residential burglary. Surprisingly enough, Balfour was on parole at the time of the murders because in 1998, he was caught in the act of stealing a car and subsequently was involved in a high-speed police chase.

Balfour actually had the nerve to ask for a new trial, which was obviously denied. Thank goodness justice has actually been served. Now, if only the powers that be could do the same in Florida–word to George Zimmerman
