Normani Kordei is the latest Black woman to be bullied into quitting Twitter.

The 20-year-old beauty and Fifth Harmony singer decided to temporarily hop off the social media platform after a series of nasty tweets came her way about an interview she did that was blown out of proportion.

According to E! News, days ago, Kordei was forced to address haters accusing her of shading band mate Camila Cabello (above, far right) by intentionally taking too long to say anything nice or substantial about the 19-year-old singer in a recent interview.

That, apparently was enough fuel to the fire for Cabello fans who had everything from critical comments to Kordei’s face photo imposed on a hanging body— that particular account was suspended.

Nonetheless, the tweens did the absolute most, causing the New Orleans native to post an Instagram note followed by the announcement of her Twitter exit.

“Over the past four years of being in the public eye I’ve learned to grow a thick skin to critics and those who may not like me,” she wrote. “I’ve never been one to deny anyone of their opinions, but over the course of this last week and especially over the last 48 hours I’ve not just been cyber bullied, I’ve been racially cyber bullied with tweets and pictures so horrific and racially charged that I can’t subject myself any longer to the hate.”

Cabello also had words for those who spewed nasty messages toward her band mate. “You don’t have to hate on somebody else to support me- I don’t appreciate it and it’s not what I’m about.. Be kind or move on,” she said.

While incredibly lackluster, considering the brevity of what happened, the girl did make an attempt. Sadly, Cabello as a non-Black woman, doesn’t and may never understand the depths of hatred people have for Black women. Particularly, Black women on top of their game.

We look forward to Kordei joining Twitter again and love the outpouring of support shown through the #WeLoveYouNormani hashtag.
