It’s no secret that Snapchat is everyone’s guilty pleasure. Since being released in 2011, the app has acquired more than 100 million daily users and become a formidable competitor to Facebook.

The popular messaging app now adds the First Lady to their roster of users. Tuesday afternoon, Michelle Obama began posting snaps from the White House. According to Joanna Rosholm, Mrs. Obama’s press secretary, Michelle’s embrace of Snapchat is a way to directly engage with young people on the platform. Her followers will be given a behind-the-scenes look at her daily activities, as well as the official events she and her hubby, aka The Commander-In-Chief, attend throughout the year.

Michelle Obama’s followers can also look forward to her trip to Africa and Europe next week. As part of the Let Girls Learn initiative, the First Lady is heading to Liberia, Morocco and Spain to meet with young school girls. According to The Verge, she’ll be joined by Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto and Meryl Streep.
