One of the most anticipated films of the year has finally released its full-length trailer to further intensify fan frenzy. Nate Parker’s The Birth of a Nation offers a deeper look into the movie courtesy of a sneak peek ahead of the Fall 2016 release.

You’ve heard about it, read about all the accolades and awards it has received thus far, and even caught a glimpse of what to expect via the teaser that was released months back.

Now, however, audiences get an even closer look at writer/director/star thanks to a full-length trailer that is sure to evoke emotion.

Already gracing many Oscar prediction lists for next year, The Birth of a Nation isn’t scheduled to be released until October, yet the media and critical frenzy surrounding it is untouched. To give a refresher about the film, take a look at the official synopsis.

“Set against the antebellum South, this story follows Nat Turner, a literate slave and preacher, whose financially strained owner, Samuel Turner, accepts an offer to use Nat’s preaching to subdue unruly slaves. After witnessing countless atrocities against fellow slaves, Nat devises a plan to lead his people to freedom.”

In addition to Nate, the film also stars Gabrielle Union, Aja Naomi King, Armie Hammer, and Jackie Earle Haley. Shadow and Act shared the latest trailer for the film today on its website and it looks even better than initially anticipated.
